El Partido Comunista Obrero Español (PCOE), tras las informaciones del Centro Nacional de Inteligencia (CNI) que implican a la Agencia Central de Inteligencia (CIA) en el asalto a la Embajada de la República Popular Democrática de Corea el pasado 22 de febrero, rechaza y condena enérgicamente el silencio y la pasividad del Gobierno de España ante una clara vulneración de las convenciones internacionales por parte del imperialismo estadounidense.

Reiteramos nuestro más firme apoyo y solidaridad con la República Popular Democrática de Corea y, en especial, con los ocho miembros del cuerpo diplomático de la embajada que fueron maniatadas, golpeadas e interrogadas por los asaltantes durante más de dos horas. Resulta inadmisible que, en un país con un nivel alto de amenaza terrorista, las autoridades españolas dejen a una embajada sin protección alguna y que los cuerpos de seguridad solo hayan reaccionado tras la llamada de un vecino.

Exigimos al presidente del Gobierno de España, Pedro Sánchez, y al ministro de Asuntos Exteriores, Josep Borrell, que rompan su silencio y denuncien públicamente el asalto perpetrado por miembros de los servicios de inteligencia estadounidenses, que violaron los convenios internacionales que protegen las legaciones diplomáticas. De lo contrario, quedará patente una vez más la sumisión y servilismo del Estado español hacia la Casa Blanca.

Official statement on the information revealed by the CNI about the assault of the embassy of the DPRK

The Spanish Communist Workers Party (PCOE) rejects and strongly condemns the silence and passivity of the Government of Spain after the National Intelligence Centre (CNI) having linked the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to the assault on the Embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea perpetrated on February 22nd. This episode constitutes a clear violation of international conventions by United States imperialism.

We reiterate our strongest support and solidarity with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and, in particular, with the eight diplomats of the embassy who were handcuffed, beaten and interrogated by the assailants for more than two hours. It is inadmissible that, in a country with a high level of terrorist threat, the Spanish authorities leave an embassy without any protection and that the security forces have only reacted after a neighbor’s alert.

We demand the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, to break their silence and publicly denounce the assault perpetrated by members of the US intelligence services, which violated international agreements that protect diplomatic legations. Otherwise, it will be clear once again the submission and servility of the Spanish State to the White House.
